On Thursday, October 18th, all three divisions of Moravian Academy wore pink for breast cancer awareness month.
Unfortunately, nearly all of us have been touched by breast cancer, whether it be a mother, sister, friend, or your Director. Having been through it myself, it warmed my heart to see all of the lovely pink this week. Coming together in this simple “pink” way brings hope to those in the middle of their battle, joy to those who have won the battle and comforting remembrance for those who have experienced loss.
An effort like this is an object lesson for children on the importance of a supportive community and the healing strength it provides. It feels good to receive that strength, to share that strength, and to be that strength. Thank you for encouraging our children to be reflexively supportive of those around them.
