Nine students from the Middle School recently competed at The Swain School Oratorical Contest last Thursday, April 25th. This year’s contest, open to all students in grades 6-8 the Lehigh Valley, had over 50 competitors from seven local middle schools.
Okezue Bell ’23 (pictured on left) earned second place in the contest.
Our student competitors prepared by practicing diligently the past couple of months to refine their speeches and speaking skills. Four of our students, Rohan Mehta ’23, Wisdom Unfondu ’23, Okezue Bell ’23, and Nabeel Rifai ’23, advanced to the final round. Congratulations to Okezue, who was awarded second place overall for his recitation of President John F. Kennedy’s June 1963 “Ich bin ein Berliner” speech!
