Every year, schools from around the county come together to produce the Northampton County Chorus Festival.
Each school selects about twelve kids and to participate each year as well as a song for their director to teach to the rest of the schools. I have been lucky enough to have been selected to be a part of it for the past three years. Each year has been an outstanding experience, however, this year has been by far the best one.
Not only did Moravian Academy host it, but the repertoire was extremely entertaining. In years past, there were only two or three songs that I looked forward to singing. But this year, every song brought an energy that made the practices fun and not feel like work. The songs were challenging enough where they required effort to actually sing them; which led to a more rewarding concert. The difficulty of the songs also allowed me to get closer to not only other Moravian kids but kids from other schools.
It’s these friendships that make the County Chorus experience for me because nothing beats overcoming a challenging song with friends.
