Salsa – not the kind you eat, but rather, the Latin American social dance – was enjoyed by our third graders and their moms before Mothers’ Lovefeast this week. Thanks to the dancing expertise of Nourhan Sharif, Shafiq’s mom, and Sr. Yerrington, the Alumni gymnasium was transformed into a ballroom. Counting, swinging, moving, smiling, laughing, and repeating are just some verbs to describe this festive thirty minutes of special time with moms.
Activities were also enjoyed in every first-grade through fifth-grade classrooms. From interviews to adjective hand prints, flower-making to poem sharing, teachers and students enjoyed having mothers and special guests make this week memorable. The sun was shining inside and out, making days like this even more special.
