We are excited to report that Olivia Wee ’21 has been selected by District 21 Sussex County Veterans of Foreign Wars as the district-level winner of the annual Voice of Democracy audio-essay program (https://www.vfw.org/community/youth-and-education/youth-scholarships). The 2018-2019 theme is “Why My Vote Matters.” Olivia will be representing District 21 at the New Jersey state-level competition.
Established in 1947, the Voice of Democracy audio-essay program provides high school students with the unique opportunity to express themselves in regards to a democratic and patriotic-themed recorded essay. Each year, nearly 40,000 9-12 grade students from across the country enter to win their share of $2.1 million in educational scholarships and incentives awarded through the program.
We are very proud of Olivia!
