We are pleased to be offering some educational programming to our seventh-grade students next week, in coordination with the same programming being given to the ninth grade at the Upper School this past week.
An outreach person from The Crime Victims Council will be joining us to address the important topic of sexual harassment. Research shows that sexual harassment is at its peak in the middle school years. We hope that through this experience students will become more educated about this issue and more empowered to be part of making our community a place where students feel safe and respected.
Mrs. Laura Riker, our Middle School Dean of Students, will be joining our presenter in each of the three sessions which will occur during our Community Period time the week of February 11. We encourage you to have your own discussions with your child as we begin what we hope will be an on-going educational conversation through many channels at the Middle School as we help them grow into mature adults.
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact Mrs. Riker.
