Second-grade students read to Kindergartners in Mrs. Bowser’s class on Friday, March 1st as part of the National Education Association’s “Read Across America” initiative. Read Across America is an annual reading motivation and awareness program that calls for every child in every community to celebrate reading on March 2nd, the birthday of beloved children’s author Dr. Seuss.
In celebration of this day, students wore colorful and crazy socks that are mismatched. Students shared one or two of their school reading books and brought in Dr. Seuss books from home to share too. What a fun way for the 2nd graders to show off their reading skills!
