The trick to deep learning leading is finding a productive way to frame the learning process. It’s true! Anything that means anything in life most likely came from the movement from failure, failure, failure to success and now holds tremendous value.
This Penn TedX, “The Super Mario Effect, Training Your Brain Into Learning More,” is worth viewing. It illustrates how Moravian’s science lab, under the courageous and crazy leadership of Lower School science teacher Mr. Brad Pomeroy, is a place of exploration, failure and success!
We should all be so wise as to frame challenges like this! By steering away from penalizing during high effort activities, teachers, parents and students will see greater success rates. Join us in fostering learning cultures where we don’t see failing in a negative, we attempt more times, and ultimately have more success and learning. By treating your life’s challenges like video games, you can trick your brain, learn more, and see more successes.
