Counting by ones, fives and tens just got more exciting! Prekindergarten and kindergarten classrooms reached the magical 100th day of school this week and celebrated in the most creative, colorful ways. Numerous snow days created extra anticipation this year as students prepared collections of all kinds. Prekindergarten classrooms were busy preparing all year by counting one apple each day. To celebrate reaching 100 apples, each class prepared delicious apple crisp treats and built castles, robots, and rockets with over 100 cups! In kindergarten, it seems like they counted everything to 100 – pennies, legos, rubber ducks, dimes, quarters, toothpicks, balloons, beans – you name it. The downstairs kindergarten class celebrated the day by recording what they will be doing when they’re 100 years old. All responses were wonderful, but the most ambitious was certainly that he would be climbing a mountain!
